The internet has many great resources, game sites, and ways for your child to connect to other children in their community and beyond. Just as you taught your child about "stranger danger," children of all ages must be taught how to keep themselves safe while being online.
Do you know if your child has a facebook page? Have you looked at it recently?
Are they on ning? Do they have a blog? A wiki? Are they on Twitter?
Do you know what the frequently used shorthand A/S/L stands for? Have you talked with your child about why they may not want to answer this or how they know other online users are being truthful?
Visit the links below to help you learn about keeping your child safe while online.
