Volunteers Needed for WES Garden

On Planting Day at WES, held May 23, students were able to plant either a theme garden in their class plant beds that they can be harvested in the fall, or they planted a crop for our local food pantry. To ensure that our newly planted garden flourishes, we are in need of some volunteers to keep our garden growing over the hot summer months.

Volunteers will be needed to weed, water and harvest our garden. Each Monday, Thursday and Saturday, water and tools will be available in the garden area from 9:00-3:00 so that you can stop in when you are able. This is a great opportunity to do some gardening with your kids and get out and enjoy the summer weather! The kids will enjoy seeing a bountiful garden when they return in September.

If you are interested in helping over summer break, please contact Jackie Curcio at jcurcio@warsawcsd.org or 585-786-8000 ext. 1334/1134. We will then send a text reminder before your date. If you can’t commit to a specific date but find yourself in the area on a Monday, Thursday or Saturday, pop in and see if our plants could use a drink.

There will be garden training for volunteers on Thursday, June 13 at 12:00 and 3:00 in the school garden. We hope you can make it to one of the sessions. Thanks for helping to make this a great experience for all our students!
